after the highly anticipated release of his third studio album decay, efdemin presents the first part of a remix series featuring his favourite producers. bristols underground hero asusu inflates the reduced album opener some kind of up and down yes with deepest bass and beautiful scapes to the max in a true photek-style. last years control by staffan linzatti was one of the favourite constants to be played in every efdemin or lawrence set. luckily his version of solaris is another epic hymn here with futuristic enhancements of the third kind.the most extraordinary piece on decay versions part 1 is the borderland states rework of parallaxis. efdemins studio-mate john gürtler recorded that beauty with adding acoustic instruments only and sounds like a meeting of moondog with wim mertens.

since richie hawtin played this track in his boiler room set on ibiza, many people have been asking about this joyce muniz collab. the track features fresh vocals by bam (formerly known as mc baby bam) from the legendary 90ies hip-hop group the jungle bothers (native tongues/zulu nation). the beat is based around a sample from kraftwerk s it s more fun to compute, and for this version we ve actually got full approval from kraftwerk (yes - guess what). so we re happy to release it now. hope you dig it too

when chateau flight was approached to participate to this live project of covers of terry riley, together with le cabaret contemporain, they immediatly said yes. it was the occasion to play great music from a majeur influence of them, and also to play it live with some great musicians. the live experience went so great that they decided to go in the mythical vogue studio (around paris), to record it. the idea was to have a full live take, no edits, to capture the magic of the improvisation. cabaret contemporain is 2 prepared double basses, 1 drummer, 1 guitar player, 1 prepared piano. chateau flight(i:cube and gilb-r) providing the electronics sounds and the mixdown here is the result.

a few years ago, a-trak got together with the pioneering house/garage producer armand van helden to form the playful dance duo duck sauce, and they quickly scored a vast international hit with *barbra streisand*. now, nearly four years after that song landed, they are finally ready to release *quack*, their giddy and engaging debut album, which features singles like *radio stereo*, *it s you*, and, yes, *barbra streisand*. the album is not a typical dance album but a whole lot of fun: quack pushes the boundaries of house music and sampling into an absurdly visual listening experience, interwoven with skits, scratching and irresistible loops.

the goal with supernova was to look back to the disco era but with a synth heavy and altogether more cosmic twist. alex is a big fun of modern russian classical music composing style. also he was inspired by early english progressive scene (yes, elo etc). this is why u-kas melodic lines are long and not so straight sometimes. and oleg is musically far from academic school and prefers zappa, early german electronic and psychedelic krautrock etc.

oh yes, this a heavyweight bad boy on gamm from french beatmaker/producer izem. after his extensive travels around the globe the sound on the ep is influenced by africa, cuba as well as the middle east.
itt is an electronic take on a classic fela joint, celia (cruz) goes along a similar route but on the latin tip. both are pretty nasty and a near perfect marriage between futuristic productions and raw retro samples. finishing off the ep we get served a slice of arabic boogie using hipnotics hard to find boogie gem *are you lonely* and some fierce middle eastern vocals.

optimo trax is an offshoot label of optimo music for tracks aimed at djs/dancefloors. yes, we know there are too many record labels already, but we felt an overriding desire to start another one as so much music that didnt seem quite right for optimo music (i.e. music that was specifically designed for dancing) kept coming our way. like the parent label, optimo trax will release music by new artists and excavate forgotten classics. luma is a project by dave clark from glasgow. dave had his first release as a member of state of flux in 1993 on t&b vinyl, the label twitch ran with his dj partner of that era, brainstorm. twitch and dave have continued to work together in various ways ever since. he has released records as truffle club, and as big ned on optimo music as well as working with twitch from 2005 - 2010 remixing a plethora of artists under the optimo (espacio) moniker before fatherhood necessitated him focusing on changing nappies rather than programming synths. dave has also recorded under various aliases for r&s, numbers, stuffrecords, dissident and wireblock. the twentieth anniversary of that first release seemed a fitting date for dave to unleash his monster new club music alter ego, luma on optimo trax. twitch thinks dave is the best producer in scotland and endlessly weeps into his gin and tonics about how unprolific dave is, so was ecstatic when the 4 killer tracks were delivered that make up this third optimo trax ep. these have been thoroughly road tested over the last few months at gigs around the world.

pow! belgian duo goldffinch are back on saigon recordings, bringing things back to where they should be: the dancefloor. the duo of yoann and gilles, from brussells, belgium, launched themselves swiftly to the forefront of their chosen electronic music style with a series of unmissable dancefloor weapons on labels like jackmasters numbers, claude von strokes dirty bird, saigon, airflex labs and audio culture. four new tracks on an ep entitled the volume, guess what the first track is called ...
